Insulin Glargine + Lixisenatide

100 units/mL + 33 mcg/mL Solution for Injection in Pre-filled Pen

? Indications

Insulin Glargine + Lixisenatide is used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.
It contains two active substances that help control your blood sugar:

  • Insulin Glargine – A long-acting insulin that helps lower blood sugar levels.
  • Lixisenatide – A GLP-1 receptor agonist that helps your body produce more insulin during meals and reduces the amount of sugar your body produces.

This medication is used with oral diabetes medications (e.g., metformin, pioglitazone, sulfonylureas) when these drugs alone or with other GLP-1 treatments or basal insulin are not sufficient to control blood sugar.

? Contraindications

Do not use Insulin Glargine + Lixisenatide if you:

  • Are allergic to Insulin Glargine, Lixisenatide, or any of the other ingredients in this medication.

Warnings and Precautions

Talk to your doctor before using Insulin Glargine + Lixisenatide if you:

? Dosage and Administration

  • Insulin Glargine + Lixisenatide is injected subcutaneously (under the skin), not in a vein or muscle.
  • The best injection sites are the front thighs, upper arms, or abdomen.
  • Always rotate the injection sites within the chosen area to reduce the risk of lumps or skin irritation.
  • Use a new needle for each injection. Reusing needles may cause blockage and inaccurate doses. Safely dispose of the needle after use.
