?️ Product Description

Glibenclamide / Metformin Hydrochloride is used to lower blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes (non-insulin-dependent) as an addition to a proper diet and exercise.

? Do Not Take Glibenclamide / Metformin Hydrochloride

  • If you are allergic to Glibenclamide, Metformin, sulfonylureas, sulfonamides, or any of the ingredients in this medicine.
  • If you have type 1 diabetes (insulin-dependent).
  • If you have diabetic ketoacidosis (severe complications of uncontrolled diabetes).
  • If you have severe liver or kidney problems.
  • If you are dehydrated, due to diarrhea or vomiting.
  • If you have serious heart problems or have had a recent heart attack, or respiratory issues.
  • If you drink alcohol excessively.
  • If you are taking Bosentan for high blood pressure.

⚠️ Warnings & Precautions

  • Inform your doctor if you are recovering from injury, surgery, or infection.
  • If you have liver or kidney issues.
  • If you have a glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency.
  • If you have heart disease.
  • If you are about to undergo major surgery, stop taking the medication beforehand.
  • This medication may cause a rare but serious complication known as lactic acidosis, especially in those with kidney dysfunction.
  • It may also cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), especially if you miss a meal, exercise excessively, or drink alcohol. Signs of low blood sugar include nausea, hunger, shakiness, dizziness, confusion, sleepiness, and sweating. Consume sugar cubes or juice in case of symptoms.

    • Contrast dyes used in imaging studies.

? How to Take Glibenclamide / Metformin Hydrochloride

  • This medication is for adults only.
  • Take this medication as directed by your doctor.
  • Take with food to avoid stomach upset.
  • The usual starting dose is Glibenclamide 1.25 - 2.5 mg / Metformin 500 - 1000 mg, taken once or twice daily.
