? What is Insulin Aspart and What is it Used For?
Insulin Aspart is a rapid-acting insulin. It is used to lower high blood sugar levels in adults, adolescents, and children aged 1 year and above with diabetes.
Treatment with Insulin Aspart helps prevent complications of diabetes. It starts to lower blood sugar levels 10-20 minutes after injection, with the peak effect occurring between 1 and 3 hours and the effect lasting from 3 to 5 hours. Due to this short-acting effect, it is typically used with intermediate-acting or long-acting insulin.
? Do Not Use Insulin Aspart If You:
- Are allergic to insulin aspart or any other ingredients in this medication.
- Have hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
- Drop or damage the pen.
- Did not store it properly or it was frozen.
- Insulin is not clear and colorless.

? How to Store Insulin Aspart
- Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
- Before opening: Store unopened pens in the refrigerator at 2 to 8°C (36 to 46°F). Do not freeze.
- While in use or when carrying as a reserve: You can carry the pen and store it at below 30°C (86°F) or in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C) for up to 4 weeks.
- Do not dispose of the medication in sewage or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to properly dispose of unused medications to protect the environment.
