? Indications for Use
Mounjaro is used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes, alongside a healthy diet and regular exercise.
? Dosage and Administration
- Initial Dose: 2.5 mg once weekly for 4 weeks.
- Maintenance Dose: After the first 4 weeks, increase to 5 mg once weekly.
- Dose Adjustments: The doctor may increase the dose by 2.5 mg to:
- 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg, or 15 mg once weekly, depending on the patient’s response and needs.
- Administration Method:
- Administered via subcutaneous injection in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.
- Rotate injection sites with each dose to reduce skin irritation.
⚠ Potential Side Effects
- Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) when used with other diabetes medications.
- Digestive issues such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
- Increased heart rate.
- Allergic reactions.
? Contraindications
- Known allergy to Tirzepatide or any of its ingredients.
- Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC).
- Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Syndrome Type 2 (MEN 2).
⚠ Warnings and Precautions
- Regular kidney and liver function monitoring is recommended.
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of pancreatitis.
- Adjustments to other diabetes medications may be needed to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia.

- Store in the refrigerator at 2 - 8°C.
- Keep away from light and out of reach of children.
- Do not freeze; if frozen, discard the product.
