? Insulin Lispro 100 Units/ml Injection Solution in Pre-Filled Pen

? What is Insulin Lispro Used For?

Insulin Lispro is used to treat diabetes. It works faster than regular human insulin because the insulin molecule has been slightly altered.

Insulin Lispro is used to control long-term blood glucose levels. It acts very quickly and lasts for a shorter duration (2 to 5 hours) compared to soluble insulin.

Insulin Lispro is suitable for use in both adults and children.

? Do Not Use Insulin Lispro if

  • You believe you are experiencing low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
  • You are allergic to Insulin Lispro or any of its ingredients.

⚠️ Precautions

Tell your doctor if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Kidney or liver problems.
  • Heart disease or a previous stroke.
  • Symptoms of heart failure, such as unusual shortness of breath, rapid weight gain, or local swelling.

⚠️ Potential Side Effects of Insulin Lispro

Serious side effects can occur, but they are rare. These include:

  • Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
  • Severe allergic reaction
  • Low potassium in the blood (hypokalemia)
  • Heart attack

? Other Medicines and Insulin Lispro

Inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medications, including over-the-counter drugs. This is especially important if you are taking medications for:

  • Birth control
  • Pain
  • Hormone replacement therapy
  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Asthma
  • Depression
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Infections

? How to Use Insulin Lispro

  • Use Insulin Lispro exactly as instructed by your healthcare provider.
  • Inject it 30 minutes before meals.
  • Be aware of the type, strength, and amount of insulin you are using. Do not change the type or amount of insulin unless your healthcare provider advises you. You may need to adjust the dose or timing if using different types of insulin.
  • Check the insulin label every time you inject to ensure you're using the correct insulin.
  • Inject under the skin (subcutaneously) in the thigh, arm, buttock, or abdomen. Do not inject into a vein (intravenously) or muscle (intramuscularly).
  • Rotate injection sites within the chosen area with each dose to reduce the risk of lipodystrophy (skin pits or thickened skin) and localized amyloidosis (skin lumps).
  • Check your blood sugar levels regularly. Ask your healthcare provider when and how often you should test.
  • Do not share your insulin syringes with others, even if the needle is changed, as it could transmit serious infections.

? How to Store Insulin Lispro

  • Before first use, store Insulin Lispro in the refrigerator (2°C - 8°C). Do not freeze.
  • Keep the opened cartridge at room temperature (below 30°C) and dispose of it after 28 days. Do not expose it to heat or direct sunlight. Do not store the pen or cartridges in the refrigerator after opening.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not use after the expiry date on the label and box. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
  • Do not use if the insulin is discolored or contains solid particles. Only use if it appears clear and resembles water. Always check before injecting.
  • Do not dispose of medications through wastewater or household waste.

Note: The appropriate form and method of administering Insulin Lispro in a pen or vial should be determined by the treatment indication and the severity of the condition for each individual patient.
