Metformin Hydrochloride is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes, particularly when diet and exercise alone are insufficient. It is also beneficial for overweight patients.

⚠️ Lactic Acidosis: A rare but serious side effect, especially in cases of kidney disease, uncontrolled diabetes, severe infections, liver problems, or dehydration.
? Symptoms: Vomiting, stomach pain, muscle cramps, extreme fatigue, difficulty breathing, low body temperature, and slow heartbeat.
⚠️ Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar): When combined with other diabetes medications.
? Symptoms: Weakness, dizziness, sweating, rapid heartbeat, vision disturbances, difficulty concentrating.
? Children (10 years and older): Initial dose of 500 mg or 850 mg once daily, maximum of 2000 mg per day.
?⚕️ Adults: Initial dose of 500 mg or 850 mg taken twice or three times daily, maximum of 3000 mg per day.
? Keep out of reach of children.
? Do not use after the expiration date.
⚠️ Diuretics, pain and inflammation medications, certain high blood pressure drugs, beta-2 agonists like salbutamol (for asthma), corticosteroids, and other diabetes medications.
? Avoid in severe kidney or liver conditions.
? Limit alcohol consumption while taking this medication.
