Metformin Hydrochloride is used to treat type 2 diabetes, particularly in overweight patients, when diet and exercise alone are not sufficient to control blood glucose levels.
? Allergy to Metformin or any of its components.
? Liver or kidney problems.
? Uncontrolled diabetes (severe high blood sugar).
? Severe infections or circulatory issues.
? Excessive alcohol consumption.
⚠️ Lactic Acidosis: A rare but serious side effect, especially with kidney problems or uncontrolled diabetes. Stop the medication immediately if symptoms like nausea, stomach pain, or difficulty breathing occur.
⚠️ Hypoglycemia: May occur when taken with other diabetes medications.
? Digestive issues such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain.
? Changes in taste.
? For children (10 years and older) & teenagers: 500 mg or 850 mg daily, with a maximum dose of 2000 mg per day.
? For adults: 500 mg or 850 mg twice or three times daily, with a maximum dose of 3000 mg per day.
? Keep out of reach of children.
? Do not use after the expiration date.
