Gliptal 50 mg belongs to a class of anti-diabetic drugs known as DPP-4 inhibitors. It is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, particularly in patients whose blood sugar levels are not controlled by diet and exercise alone.
It can be used alone or in combination with other medications. Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition that affects how the body processes glucose.
People with type 2 diabetes either do not produce enough insulin or cannot use it effectively (insulin resistance).
Gliptal 50 mg increases the level of the incretin hormone after meals, which stimulates insulin secretion from the pancreas. This helps in lowering elevated blood sugar levels and controlling type 2 diabetes.
