Gliptal 50 mg belongs to a class of anti-diabetic medications called
Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors. It is used to treat
type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially in patients whose blood sugar levels are not well controlled by diet and exercise alone.
- Can be used alone or in combination with other diabetes medications.
- Helps manage blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes, a chronic condition where the body does not produce enough insulin or cannot use it effectively (insulin resistance).
- Works by increasing the level of incretin hormones, which stimulate the pancreas to release insulin after meals, thereby reducing high blood sugar levels.
