? Do Not Use Glimepiride If:
- You are allergic to glimepiride, other sulfonylureas, sulfonamides, or any ingredient in this medication.
- You have type 1 diabetes (insulin-dependent).
- You are experiencing diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious complication with very high blood sugar, nausea, frequent urination, fatigue, and muscle weakness).
- You are in diabetic coma.
- You have severe liver problems.
- You have severe kidney issues.

- Inform your doctor of all your health conditions, including if you:
- Are recovering from injury, surgery, infection, fever, or other forms of stress.
- Have liver or kidney problems.
- Have a deficiency in the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD).
- This medication can cause low blood sugar, especially if you miss a meal, exercise too much, or consume alcohol. Symptoms of low blood sugar include nausea, hunger, shaking, dizziness, confusion, drowsiness, difficulty speaking, and sweating. You may need to consume sugar cubes or some juice to correct this.
