Glyxambi contains two active ingredients: Empagliflozin and Linagliptin. Both belong to a class of medications called oral antidiabetic agents used to treat Type 2 diabetes.
Glyxambi is added to Metformin or Sulfonylurea (SU) for adults (18 years and older) with uncontrolled Type 2 diabetes when treated with:
✔ Metformin or Sulfonylurea with Empagliflozin
✔ Metformin or Sulfonylurea with Linagliptin
It can also be used as a replacement for taking Empagliflozin and Linagliptin separately.
⚠ Do not continue taking Empagliflozin and Linagliptin separately if you are prescribed Glyxambi to avoid overdose.
? Continue following your doctor’s recommended diet and exercise plan while taking this medication.
? Always take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
✔ Starting dose: One film-coated tablet of Glyxambi 10 mg / 5 mg (10 mg Empagliflozin + 5 mg Linagliptin) once daily.
✔ Your doctor may increase the dose to Glyxambi 25 mg / 5 mg (25 mg Empagliflozin + 5 mg Linagliptin) once daily.
✔ If you were already taking 25 mg Empagliflozin and 5 mg Linagliptin separately, you can switch directly to Glyxambi 25 mg / 5 mg.
