Formit XR extended-release tablets contain the active ingredient: Metformin Hydrochloride, which belongs to a class of medications called biguanides, used in the treatment of diabetes.
Formit XR is used to treat Type 2 diabetes (non-insulin-dependent) when a diet alone and exercise have not been enough to control blood glucose levels.
? Usage Instructions
Take Formit XR with meals to help reduce gastrointestinal side effects that may occur during the first few weeks of treatment.
Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.
⚠ Warnings and Precautions
Do not take Formit XR if:
- You are allergic to metformin or any of the other ingredients listed in the leaflet.
An allergic reaction may cause a rash, itching, or difficulty breathing. - You have ketoacidosis (a symptom of uncontrolled diabetes where substances called "ketones" accumulate in the blood, and you may notice your breath has a fruity smell).
- You have long-term kidney or liver problems.
- You have had serious complications due to diabetes or other severe conditions leading to rapid weight loss, nausea, vomiting, or dehydration.
- You have a severe infection or have recently suffered a serious injury.
- You have been treated for heart problems, recently had a heart attack, or have serious circulatory issues or difficulty breathing.
- You drink excessive alcohol.
- You are under 18 years old.
